When I get your information, I will send you a portrait start-up kit which includes all the essentials - an order form, samples of my work, and tips for taking photographs

I work from photographs. The best photos are at least 4x6 inches and are a close up of your horse or dog in an expression or likeness you would like to have done as a portrait. Their head should be no less than three inches, if at all possible. Other photos that show coloring, personality, and things like that may also be included. If you are providing a professional photo, most likely it will be copyrighted. In this case, the photo must be accompanied by a copyright release from the copyright holder.

I work in pastels and graphite pencil. Only the best quality materials are used to create each portrait, including acid-free papers. For color pastel portraits, I select papers to complement each animal's coloring. Pencil drawings are done on white acid-free paper. Double matting is included in the price of all horse portraits or dog portraits. I leave the framing to you so you may choose something that works with your decor. However, I will send you some helpful framing tips.

Larger horse portraits or dog portraits are also available, upon request and a price will be quoted depending upon the size and the animal.

The above prices are for one animal. Additional animals can be included for an additional 50%.

The above prices do not include shipping and handling or Ohio sales tax.

For black and white pencil drawings, a 50% deposit is due at the time of the order. The remaining 50% is due upon completion of the portrait and prior to shipping.

For color pastel horse and dog portraits, a 50% deposit is due at the time of the order. 25% is due upon completion of a pencil sketch which is submitted to you for approval prior to the completion of the final color portrait. When your portrait is finished, I will send you a digital image of the portrait via email. At that time the last 25% is due, and on receipt of the last 25%, your horse portrait or dog portrait will be shipped to you.

Depending upon my workload at the time of your order, it will take four to six weeks for the completion of the portrait. Christmas orders are accepted until October 15 to insure delivery by Christmas. After October 15, you may want to consider a gift certificate.

If you would like to give a horse portrait or dog portrait as a gift but are unable to obtain photos or get your hands on that dog or horse, you might want to give a gift certificate. I have really nifty little gift certificates available that are suitable for gift-giving.
